James Cook University (JCU) is the second oldest university in Queensland and Australia’s leading university in the tropics.

The university’s three main campuses are in dynamic and diverse tropical locations in Cairns, Townsville and the vibrant Asian business hub of Singapore. Some JCU degrees are also offered at JCU Brisbane, a campus in Queensland’s capital city, operated by Russo Higher Education Pty Ltd.JCU study centres are located throughout rural, island and hinterland locations in northern Australia.

JCU is Queensland’s second-oldest university and offers a comprehensive range of courses spanning the arts and humanities, business, creative media, education, dental surgery, engineering, health sciences, information technology, law, marine biology, medicine, nursing, planning, science, social work, and veterinary science. JCU also offers a number of joint degree masters in business administration (MBAs) that are very popular with both local and international students.

JCU is a leading research university, with unique field stations in the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the wet tropics rainforests and the dry tropics savannah lands.
