This course covers the skills and knowledge required to select, use, and maintain business technology. This technology includes the effective use of computer software to organize information and data. It is designed to help them process and organize data with the use of existing computer technologies. This business short course enables them to learn the fundamentals of business equipment and applications that are commonly used in hi-tech office environments today. This unit applies to individuals who use business technology to process and organize data and to perform a range of other routine tasks. They use a limited range of practical skills and fundamental knowledge of equipment use and the organization of data or files in a defined context, under direct supervision or with limited individual responsibility. Career pathways are administrative/office assistant, payroll clerk, information officer, customer service officer, accounts clerk, receptionist, secretary, and personal assistant.
