Course description:

This program aims to provide a broad science education combining the disciplines of applied physics, biology, chemistry, computer and information science, environmental systems, geospatial information systems, geoscience, mathematics and some others. The special emphasis on laboratory and fieldwork is designed to give graduates a practical feel of their acquired knowledge. The program also aims to offer the approproiate preparation for those intending to pursue a teaching specialization in secondary science.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants should have qualified for SACE and have recorded achievement in five SACE subjects taken at Stage 2 level that includes at least four Stage 2 subjects which are approved Higher Education Selection Subjects (HESS) and obtained a competitive TER. They must have completed the equivalent secondary education qualifications as required for University entry under SACE and fulfilled one of the following criteria: completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma; completed or partly completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution; should have atleast four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at the appropriate level; completed an award from TAFE or from another registered training organisation at AQF certificate IV or above; qualified for special entry and completed the University Foundation Studies program.

Mawson Lakes is the main campus for the division of IT, Engineering and the Environment, has state-of-the-art research facilities, an extensive library and collaborative links with nearby Technology Park. They include fully-furnished units with separate bedrooms, shared dining, bath and recreation facilities. Meals, as well as power, gas and water supply are provided. Students also benefit from the pastoral care and library facilities available here. Student Hostels: Located mostly in the suburbs of Adelaide, the Student Hostels are a good option for independent living (though supervision is provided in some hostels). They are usually self-catering, but some provide meals. They include fully-furnished units with separate bedrooms, shared large kitchens, dining, bathrooms and recreation facilities. Student Apartments: Located within walking distance to the University campuses, these fully-furnished self-catered apartments make for comfortable independent living. Students usually pay for their own utilities (power, gas and water). Private Rental: Students can look for vacancies in UniSA Rental Database, real estate agencies and the newspapers. These privately-rented and self-catered houses may be unfurnished or fully-furnished, and can be shared with other tenants also.
